What I Like Best About My Ministry: I love being with the kids playing games and interacting. I equally love to watch our volunter leaders interact and develop friendships with the kids.

Favorite Movie or TV Show: I don't really watch TV, but I love the movies "Return to Me" and "Swiss Family Robinson"

What I Like Best About My Ministry: Interacting and getting to know so many wonderful people. I also love organizing, planning and doing - it's so fun!

For Fun I Enjoy: My family, reading, laughing, sewing/crafting, cleaning (yeah, it's sick, isn't it?)

Favorite Verse of the Bible: I like Philippians 1:6..."being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." I also love the book of Psalms because it reminds me over and over again of God's GREATNESS, POWER, FAITHFULNESS AND LOVE!

Favorite Movie or TV Show: Movie - Sisterhood of Traveling Pants, TV - I like to watch sports!

What I Like Best About My Ministry: I really enjoy being with and interacting with people. I like to help plan and organize events. This job gives me plenty of opportunities to do this!

For Fun I Enjoy: Being with my family, hanging out with friends, cooking, trying new recipes, reading, walking and watching a game of baseball or basketball.

What I Like Best About My Ministry: Seeing the previously "unchurched" taking steps on their way to becoming Christ-followers.

For Fun I Enjoy: I've been performing magic tricks and illusions for 40 years, so I enjoy all aspects of the art: reading, performing, and watching other magicians.

Ministry/Professional Background: BA in Biblical Education from Cedarville University (1974). Warehouse manager (1974-1976). Youth for Christ/Campus Life Director (1976-1978). Youth Pastor (1978-1987). Campus Crusade for Christ (Andre' Kole Ministry:1987-1996). Master of Divinity from Ashland Theological Seminary (1992). Sr. Pastor at Heartland Community Church (1997 to present).

I am co-author with Illusionist Andre' Kole of the book, Astrology and Psychic Phenomena. It is one volume in the 15 volume Zondervan Guide to Cults and Religious Movements.

Pete Drury

Role at Heartland Community Church: Associate Pastor specializing in discipleship and outreach. What I like best about ministry is helping people to connect, grow and serve.

Started Attending Heartland: We started attending at the end of 2006.

Started on Staff: Spring 2007.

Family Members: I live in Wadsworth with my wife Mary, our four kids, Carolyn, Joanna, Samuel and Julia, and Mary's mother Mary Edwards. Our time is filled with muysic lessons and the busy lives of 10,13,15 and 17 year olds.

Favorite Movie or TV Show: News, science fiction and comedies.

What I Like Best About My Ministry: I like to watch people move closer to Christ, connecting with others, self-feeding to grow spiritually and serving others from their uniqueness.

For Fun I Enjoy: Reading, swimming, bicycling, jogging, softball and playing.

Ministry/Professional Background: Pete was born at a young age in Elyria. He attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago (B.A.), received an M.Div. from Denver Seminary, and is one paper away from obtaining his doctorate from TEDS. Pete's experience in ministry includes yoluth ministry, small group specialist and senior pastor.

Started Attending Heartland: My wife Jen attended the first service and I attended the second service.

Family Members: Wife Jen (22 years), Sean (17 yrs), Nate (15 yrs) Sarah (10 yrs). Two Scotties named Scottie and Sebastian.

Favorite Movie or TV Show: The Office, 24, Lost

What I Like Best About My Ministry: I get a charge when I see teenagers make changes in their thinking and behaviors that reflect an understanding and belief in the teachings of Jesus.

For Fun I Enjoy: Fixing our house, reading, XBOX 360, walking trails, playing the bagpipes and keeping pet turtles.

Professional/Ministry Background: BE from University of Toledo ('86), Ohio National Guard ('81-'86), a Helicopter Pilot in the U.S. Army ('87-'90), Sales and Sales Management ('91-'01), Heartland Staff from 2001 to present. A degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling (M.A.C.P.C.) from Ashland Theological Seminary in December of 2008. I became a youth group volunteer in 1991.
